Six is the magic number tonight as the Yankees go for there 6th win in a row, and try to increase there lead in the AL east. Taking the mound for the Yankees is Phil Hughes, who last time out only mistakes was hanging a fastball to former Yankee Hideki Matsui, and a slight lack of control (5 walks on the night).  He will be backed up offensively buy the HOT hitting Derek Jeter, Robie Cano and the sudenly red hot Alex Rodriguez. Also Mark Teixeira’s bat showed sign that it was emerging from it’s long winters nape last night. If that indeed is the case then it coudl be a vary long night for the Oakland A’s and ther Starter Ben Sheets.

Looks like the Capten will be geting the day off, and Bret Gardner will be geting his first chance to show he can handel the leadoff spot in the lineup. Andy Pettitte will take the mound for the Yankees today he has been almost unhitable in his previous 2 starts but he dose have a career ERA of 5.41 against the Rangers so today could be interesting. If The Yankees can win today they will pull off the sweep of the Rangers and extend their winning streak to 4 games.

AJ Burnett takes the mound for the Yankees today as they try to make it three in a row and extend ther lead in the AL East. Burnet who tends to pitch better at home in NY has a tough act to folow after CC Sabathia’s dominating perfomance last night. AJ is coming of a vary good start of his own last weekend when he pitched 7 strong innings against the Tampa Rays alowing only 2 runs. He will be backed up buy the red hot bats of the Captain Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, and Jorge Posada. His Counterpart for Texas is Scott Feldman, who is coming off a strong start of his own against Seattle where he threw 7 innings and only gave up 1 run. Texas’s Offense is nothing to dismiss either with the ever dangerous Vladmir Guerro, and Nelson Cruz in the hart of ther lineup.
